A small action game made in 5 days, for the 57th Godot Wild Jam. You play as a wizard defending his castle from ghosts and monsters.

Gameplay and Mechanics

The player controls a wizard who uses Black Magic in hopes of resurrecting his dead wife. The game is a blend of tower defense (or in this case, castle defense) and a 2D action sidescroller.

The hook of the game is a spell drawing mechanic: in order to cast spells to defeat your enemies, you need to draw spell rune symbols with your mouse, like so:

  • first time working with a sound designer and composer
  • designing and implementing a unique spell-drawing mechanic, based on this algorithm
  • lot of features and polish in 5 days
  • planning ahead and time management went really well
